Letter of Intent

I am currently a freshman at Rider University, majoring in Psychology and looking for an internship before and/or after I graduate. I have had prior life and professional experience in helping people with psychological issues. I am enthralled by the wonders of the human mind and passionate about helping others using psychological evaluation. I aspire to assist many in figuring out what their key problems are within themselves and then eliminating them one by one to find an ultimate solution to success in their favor. I will always pursue the solution and never give up on my patients because they depend on me for an answer to their problems and disorders. I aspire to one day be a clinical psychologist at Bancroft Neurohealth
to extent my helping hands using psychology to make the world a more calm and collected place, where people can live happily and sure of themselves.

A sneak peak of me

Hello, my name is Aamir R. Hayes and I am currently a freshman student at Rider University. I am here majoring in psychology. I am currently an active member of the Multicultural Student Leader Institution, the Black Student Union, the Latin American Student Organization, and the On Fire poetry club of which I am one of the coordinating staff members. I have superior leadership and organizational skills, I am a people person, and have an internship experience in the psychology field. My passion is helping people and with my undying determination to accomplish any feat I will always have a will to learn and work towards success.

My Past

I was a very passionate child always looking for ways to help people. I was always a listener and my parents thought that I had a mental disorder because I did not start speaking until I was almost three. My parents realized that I did not have a speech disorder because I actually spoke very well for my age. I always asked questions and thought about my answers before I spoke again. I always wanted to solve things in the best way and even though for my age they seemed quite simple my mother saw what was developing within me.

My Present

Presently, my passion has grown exponentially. I spend countless hours coping with the problems of my family members trying to find solutions to the issues in my family using my natural psychology skills to mediate quarrels between my loved ones. In high school, being a cross country co-captain I helped my teammates achieve better times by motivating them in life and on the track. In my last two years in Seton Hall Upward Bound, I helped younger poets with their anxieties and stage fright.
In college, I am most proud of my involvement in the On Fire!! poetry club. As a board member of the club I help organize events as well as promote them on campus. I get to express my recreational passion, poetry.

My Future

In The future I aspire to become better skilled in professional psychological methods of repairing the lives of people with issues or people who just need a listening ear and an experienced voice to tend to their needs. In the future I seek to serve my purpose here on troubled little planet earth.

I have worked hard to get where I am and I will never cease to progress in my ambitions of changing the world with new concepts of peace, serenity, and decisiveness through psychology. I want to use the knowledge that I would gain from an internship or a college education to bring about change, not for monetary gain or egotistical gain, but gain for our generation to teach and utilize to help the world progress. My goals are sincere and with my determination, I will be a long way from giving up my dreams.
